If you want to learn how to improve yourself, there are countless methods to help you get started. The best part? Many of them do not even take that big of a commitment to put into your daily routine.
Pick a few things from the list that you love and prioritize them! From reading more to eating healthier to trying a new hobby- finding enjoyable ways to improve yourself every day is so valuable.
I created a list of some of my favorite ways to improve yourself every day. Pick a few and implement them into your routine to help you on the path to being the best version of yourself.
I don’t know about you, but I am a huge fan of self improvement. There is something about reading a new book, learning a new skill and learning how to be healthier that just makes you feel SO GOOD.
And just slowing down to enjoy the simple joys of life and learning some ways to organize your life can have a huge impact on your ability to improve.

That said, here are some amazing tips to help you get that good feeling. I try to implement these in my every day life.
Read Everyday
It’s interesting how many people love to read, but don’t make it a priority. To be honest, it is kind of surprising! Especially when reading is one of the best ways to help your mind grow, your vocabulary develops, and your imagination to run wild.
Visit your local library and pick out a book or order one on your Amazon Kindle. Set the goal to read just one chapter a day and soon you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much that habit grows.
If you have young kids, sitting and reading to them aloud while they color or at bedtime is another excellent hack. Right now, I read to my kids one chapter a night and it’s one of our favorite activities.
Learn a New Language
Learning a new language is an excellent way to improve yourself. Even without any sort of foundation, getting an app like Duolingo on your phone or trying Rosetta Stone can be helpful in helping you learn a new language.
My advice? Set a goal to learn basic phrases first. That way, you can gain a strong foundation and have confidence to begin using your new language skills.
Try a New Recipe for Dinner
This may sound simple, but improving yourself doesn’t have to be these giant leaps every time. Pulling out your favorite cookbook and trying out a different meal will push you (and your family) to potentially learn new cooking skills, experience new flavors, and try out a new meal.
And guys, those of you who have been reading for a while know that I also have a food blog with what I believe to be awesome recipes. I include step by step instructions to make it easy. Head to Went Here 8 This to check it out!
If you are worried about trying a new meal on your own, you can always try out a meal subscription service to help walk you through the process! This is an excellent option to expand your culinary skills.
Get Moving
When you are learning ways on how to improve yourself every day, one of the best answers that you will find is to find a way to move.
Maybe it’s walking to the bus stop, parking farther away at the grocery store, or taking that new aerobics class at the community center.
Movement is proven to help you feel your best. It strengthens your heart, calms your brain, and builds a lot of confidence. Incorporating new ways to move into your routine is an excellent way to improve yourself.
Set a New Goal
I love to set a goal. Whether it is a financial goal of paying off a credit card, a physical goal like running a 5K, or a personal goal like calling my parents more, it feels good to have goals.
When I am trying to find a new way to improve yourself, setting a goal is a great idea. Not only will you be able to evaluate exactly where you need work in your life, but setting a new goal will keep you driven to be your best self.
Try a Money Saving Challenge
It’s no secret that I love a money savings challenge. They are so simple and so effective to help you save up for that new backyard fence or trip to Hawaii.
I love them so much that I created a roundup of my favorite money saving challenges to help you decide how to improve yourself everyday by saving money.
These financial affirmations will for sure help you keep on track with any financial goals!
Pick Up a New Hobby
Okay, so you know how to paint, how to sew, how to garden… that’s great! If you want to learn how to improve yourself every day, the question you need to ask yourself is ‘what’s next?’
Learning a new hobby will test your brain and your skills to help you master something entirely new. Who knows? You could be amazing at it and find a brand-new passion!
Improve a Skill
Instead of learning a brand-new hobby, have you taken a look at what you already can do? Is there a way that you can improve upon it?
My gardening, for example, would earn a solid C+ in the world of growing your own vegetables. Half the time, gophers eat half of it and I don’t do much to stop them.
This spring, I would love to focus on improving that skill and making my garden one of the most beautiful ones in my neighborhood.
This skill will not only improve myself, but it will also help me out on the next tip- eating healthier!
Eat Healthier
Just like most of the tips and tricks on this list, eating healthier is an excellent way to improve yourself every day. Eating a balanced meal filled with protein, carbs, and fats will help you feel better and help motivate you to make other healthy changes.
Try Out a New Morning Routine
Your morning routine is SO important! I know you know this, but when is the last time that you made it a priority?
If you can, take some time in the evening to make sure that your mornings go smoothly. Pack the lunches, lay out clothes, set the coffee maker… whatever you need to ensure that the morning can run smoothly.
When you make this simple change, your entire day will run better! This is one of the daily habits of successful people too.
Take Your Vitamins
Did you know that for a multivitamin to be effective, you need to take them consistently? That means every single day you need to take one!
If you think about it, there isn’t much of a reason to not take one. The purpose of a multivitamin is to boost immunity, increase energy, and support the million functions that your body does for you every day.

Drink More Water
Drinking water is one of the best ways to be your best self! Not only is your body mostly water (up to 70% of you right now is H2O) so it’s super essential, but it’s free.
Your body needs water to do the most basic functions, so if you are dehydrated then it has to work harder, making you more tired. Next time you feel worn down, instead of reaching for another cup of coffee, try drinking some water!
Every time I feel poorly, I drink a ton of water, and a lot of the time it makes me feel so much better. Dehydration is for real guys!
Have Screen-Free Hours
Something that my partner and I realized recently is how much time we are spending on screens every day. Between our jobs, our side hustles, TV, and our phones… let’s just say that it is a LOT.
Something we started doing each week to improve ourselves is to have screen free hours in the home. I won’t lie- it can be really difficult at times, but most of the time it is pretty refreshing.
It gives us the opportunity to communicate and take care of things that fall on the wayside. I highly recommend doing a social media detox from time to time to get your life back!
My favorite thing to do during our screen free time is to take a long walk with my family or do a puzzle. I feel like this time helps me untangle so many things in my brain and bring clarity to the rest of my life.
Get More Sleep
I know, I know, there aren’t enough hours in the day to make sleep a priority!
But, trust me, getting more sleep will probably help you in the long run. People that get more rest each night report to having higher levels of productivity in the day.
Have you also noticed that when your kids don’t get enough sleep, they tend to be a lot grouchier? The same is true for most adults. Getting sleep will make you kinder, and who doesn’t want that?
To help you take full advantage of every REM cycle, I recommend grabbing a sleep machine so that your mind and body can truly recharge while you sleep.
If you truly want to learn how to improve yourself, make time to sleep.
Ask for Feedback
One of the best ways to improve yourself is to ask for feedback. I understand how scary that can be, but if you can find a person that you truly respect to give you some helpful tips and tricks, why not?
What I love about feedback is that sometimes we get these blinders on for things to be a specific way. That feedback might remove those blinders and help you see opportunities that you would not have seen otherwise.
Not sure how to get feedback? Just reach out and ask! Most people are more than willing to help.
Try a New Podcast
Podcasts are one of my favorite resources for self-improvement. Even better? They are free (for the most part).
Take into account any area that you are hoping to improve yourself every day and find a podcast that dives into that specific topic. I would honestly be surprised if you couldn’t find one that could offer you some advice, to be honest.
One of my favorite ways to find new podcasts is to take someone that I admire and find every podcast interview that they have ever been in. Typically, I will find 1 or 2 hosts that I really connect with and listen to a few other episodes to help expand my knowledge.
Try Journaling
Journaling is one of the best methods to implement when you are learning new ways on how to improve yourself every day!
Not only is it pretty simple (you can write about anything- there are no rules!), but if you can get into the habit of journaling every single day then you will be surprised at the thoughts that you discover.
Carve out a specific part of your day every single day to help you stay motivated to journal. Morning, evening, the babies nap time- it doesn’t matter! Just make sure you add it into your daily routine in order to be successful.
You only need to journal a few minutes a day to help you begin to see improvement. Start by writing 5-10 minutes every day and you can work your way up to more if you want!
Listen to Different Music
Sometimes, we get into a music rut and find ourselves listening to the same few songs all the time. That’s fine, but what we listen to on a daily basis can have a big impact on our thoughts and actions.
A great method to try out when you are trying to improve yourself is to set a challenge to try a different type of music for the entire month. This music could be calming classical, positive pop, or any other emotion that you want to add into your personal life.
Not sure where to start? Amazon Music Unlimited has some great playlist recommendations to help modify your mood. Give it a try and you’ll be surprised at how well this trick works!
