I Need $100 Now! Here Are 22 Ideas To Help You Make $100 (or more) Fast
1. Make Money Answering Questions
Online surveys are one of the easiest things you can do if you need $100 now.
The annoying thing about online surveys though, is that there are hundreds of sites out there and it can be difficult to know which ones are scams.
I’ve tried a ton of survey sites and have discovered the best survey sites for earning potential. My first choice for you to join to make $400 fast is Survey Junkie.
Top-Rated Survey Site: Survey Junkie
Survey Junkie has a TrustPilot rating of 8.7/10 which is the highest out of any survey site.
One of the most common complaints of survey site users is that if, after answering the preliminary questions, you don’t qualify for the survey, you don’t get paid
The good news is that if that happens to you on Survey Junkie you are still awarded 2-3 points even if you don’t qualify for a survey, which is a big added bonus.

2. Download This App That Pays Just For Having It
This app is free and it pays you just for installing it.
Yep, you read that right. $50 per year, per device and you don’t have to do anything other than download it. Click here to download it and get $50 every year for nothing.
3. Get $10 When You Download Ibotta
If you want to make $10 super fast, then download the Ibotta app on your phone.
Ibotta is free app that rewards you with cash back on your grocery store purchases. It’s easy to use – you just choose the cashback offer you want to take advantage of (for example, a loaf of bread) go to the grocery store and buy the item, then upload a pic of your receipt through the app.
Within 24 hours you’ll receive the cash back in your account, which you can deposit into your PayPal account. I’ve made over $2200 with Ibotta, so I can testify to it’s legitimacy as a way to make $400 fast (and obviously a lot more than that!) And when you sign up here, you’ll get a $10 bonus after you redeem your first cash back offer.

4. Make Money Scanning Barcodes
This free app is one of my absolute favorites, because every time I use it I feel like I’m on a treasure hunt. The ways this app works is that you earn “kicks” for entering a store, and then more “kicks” for scanning the barcodes of various items throughout the store.
You can also earn even more “kicks” for purchasing items, but it’s not required. Each kick is worth around $0.004 cents which doesn’t sound like much, but sometimes you can get 350 kicks just for entering a store, which works out to $0.80.
Pro tip – sometimes you can even earn kicks just by driving past the entrance to the store. I used to do this after work with my local Target! Download the app for free here.
5. Drive for Lyft
Becoming a Lyft driver can be a very lucrative side hustle, and a great way to make money fast. You’ll need to be over 21 years of age, have your own reliable vehicle, a smartphone, a driver’s license and a clean background to become a Lyft driver.
Lyft pays their drivers weekly, however, any tips you receive are yours to keep which means you could end up with some good money at the end of each day.
Lyft is currently holding a promotion where they’ll pay you a bonus $300 if you complete 100 drives in your first 30 days. Apply to become a Lyft driver here.
6. Become a Petsitter/Dog Walker
If you love animals, then you can easily make $100 by becoming a petsitter or dog walker with Rover. Rover is the largest petsitting network in the United States, with one pet owner booking a service on Rover every few seconds.
You can choose the services you’re willing to provide, including boarding, dog walking, house-sitting, drop-ins and doggy day care, and you set your own rates.

7. Join a Focus Group
Focus groups can be a great way to make $100 or more fast. In fact, I’ve been paid as much as $300 for a single focus group.
As a focus group participant, you’ll be helping companies with their market research. You might be required to give your opinion on a certain type of packaging or a slogan that a company is considering using, for example.
It’s a fun, easy way to make some extra cash while getting an insider sneak-peak at up and coming products. I recommend joining Respondent for high-paying focus groups.
8. Declutter and Make Money
Most people have at least a few hundred dollars worth of unwanted items laying around the house that they could sell to make money fast. Go through each room in your house and start a pile of items that you no longer need, want, or never use.
You can list larger items like furniture on Craigslist. If you have lots of clothes, you can bag them up and send them off to ThredUp, who’ll pay you a small lump sum. Things like DVD’s, CD’s and old cell phones can be sold on the Decluttr app.
9. Rent Out a Room
If you have a spare room in your house (or even a spare couch!) then you can make money fast by renting out your space on Airbnb.
Depending on where you live, you can make as much as a $1000/week or more by providing a place to stay for an out-of-town visitor.
There are many reasons why people prefer to stay in an Airbnb compared to a hotel, including convenience, lower cost, wanting to experience the area like a local, and more.
10. Become a Tasker
Taskrabbit is a website that people go to when they want a small task completed, such as helping move some furniture around, light yard work, helping pack to move house, dropping parcels off at the post office, etc.
As a Tasker, you’ll get paid to complete these small jobs. All you have to do is log in, find a task in your local area, complete the task and then submit your invoice online. Taskrabbit will receive payment from the customer and then pay you weekly. Any tips you receive are yours to keep.
Apply to become a Tasker here.
11. Start a Fiverr Gig
Fiverr is a website where you can list basically any type of offering you can think of. Seriously, there are people making money on Fiverr by offering to sing happy birthday to someone on video, create a personalized greeting card, record a 2-minute voice-over in a foreign accent, and more.
Of course, there are also plenty of more standard offerings, such as creating graphics, editing documents, etc.
In a nutshell, if you can think of an online service you can offer, it’s worth posting it up on Fiverr to see if you can make some extra cash.
12. Sell Your Plasma
Warning – if you’re queasy or faint at the sight of blood, this one isn’t for you! If you’re ok with stuff like that, read on…
Did you know that you can get paid to donate your plasma? There are plasma donation centers located all over the country (Grifols is one of the big ones) and they’ll pay you up to $60 per plasma donation.
Most private centers will allow you to donate twice ever 7 days, with at least a 2 day period in between donations. You can make up to $300/month by donating your plasma.
13. Become a Mystery Shopper
Mystery shopping has been a popular way to make extra cash for years now. One of the other perks of becoming a mystery shopper is that you will also be reimbursed if there is a purchase required for you to complete the mystery shop.
For example, Bestmark is a mystery shopping company that often has assignments available that require you to get an oil change. Bestmark will pay you up to $25 (dependent on your location) and reimburse you for the oil change, meaning you just got a free oil change AND got paid.
Find out more about Bestmark here.
14. Have a Garage Sale
Garage sales can be a great way to make some extra cash and declutter. I usually hold at least one garage sale every year, and depending on what I have to sell, I normally make a few hundred dollars.
There are a few keys to having a successful garage sale:
- Advertise EVERYWHERE (Craigslist, Facebook, tape signs to street lights, erect signs on street corners near your house, etc.)
- Price your items low – people come to garage sales looking for a bargain
- Lay everything out so it’s easy to browse. Don’t just dump everything on the ground and expect people to bend down and rifle through
- Be friendly to people – act as if you’re a store owner. Greet them, ask if they’re looking for anything in particular
- Offer deals – if someone wants to buy a pair of jeans you’re selling, tell them that they can add two more items of their choice for an extra dollar
15. Flip Free Stuff
A friend of mine makes a full-time income flipping unwanted items for profit, so this can definitely be a lucrative way to make some quick cash. Check out the free section of Craigslist to see what people are giving away. Clean the item up a bit, give it a lick of paint and then resell it for a profit. Fair warning – you’ll have to be quick. Good items are snapped up fast in the free section!
16. Return Unused Items
Look around your house and see if you have any items sitting around that still have the tags on them. If you don’t think you’ll use them, then you can try taking them back to get a refund. Many stores have generous refund policies, including Walmart which has a 90 day refund policy.
17. Count Up Your Spare Change
If you often pay for things with cash, then there’s a good chance you have spare change floating around. Do a clean sweep of the inside of your car, check all of your jeans and jacket pockets, check the bottom of the washing machine and under the couch cushions. Last time I cleaned out my car, I found $6.27 in cash (I had 5 $1 notes stuffed in my glove box that I’d forgotten about!)
18. Sell Unused Gift Cards
If you’ve ever received unwanted gift cards that you still have laying around, then you can sell them for cash on Raise or Gift Card Granny. These sites will pay you a percentage of the total value of the gift card.
19. Clean Houses
Everyone wants a clean house, but not everyone has the time or desire to clean their house themselves. I know of a number of people who clean houses as a side hustle, and earn as much as $150 per house. This is largely dependent on where you live and the size of the house you’re cleaning, of course. Try advertising your services on Facebook and putting the word out to family and friends that you’re looking to take on a few house cleaning clients.
20. Ghostwrite
I’m partial to this one because it’s one of the first ways I ever made extra income online. Ghostwriting means that you’re writing articles or even entire books for someone else. You won’t be credited for the article or book, but you do get paid. I recommend checking out Upwork to start.
21. Resell Designer Clothes
This is another side hustle that I used to do occasionally. If you live in an area that has awesome thrift shops, try to find designer items at bargain-basement prices and resell them online. I once found a Lilly Pulitzer dress at a thrift shop for 50 cents on half-price day and sold it online for $34. I also found a Longchamp purse for $3 and sold it for $37! Not a bad ROI.
22. Do Seasonal Work
Seasonal work is a great way to make money fast. Try to think of things that people need done at certain times of year, and offer to do it for them. For example, you could offer to hang Christmas lights during the holiday season, shovel snow in the winter, mow lawns and pull weeds in the spring/summer, etc.
IN SUMMARY
There are plenty of ways to make money if you ever find yourself in a situation where you’re thinking “I need $100 now!” Some of these will net you a few dollars, some of them can be very lucrative and some of them might even become a regular income-producing side hustle!
