If you’re looking for ways to make money on your smartphone, then you’re in luck. Below are 6 ways you can make money you can make money while you’re on your phone.
Â
There’s no denying the convenience of a smartphone. I’ll admit it – I would find it pretty hard to go back to a regular cell phone. I use my iPhone for everything – surfing the internet, pinning things on Pinterest, jotting down notes, taking a million pictures of my son. Oh, and talking and texting 😉
And considering that two-thirds of Americans own a smartphone, there’s a good chance you’re the same as me. Convenient as smartphones are, they’re also pretty expensive. The cost of the phone itself, data, line charges, overage fees… it adds up quickly.
It’s no secret that I love making passive income on the internet. But in addition that that, I’m always looking for ways to make or save some extra money here and there, and making money from your smartphone is pretty sweet, right?
This is a great way to make money as a teenager too!
6 Ways to Make Money From Your Smartphone
Swagbucks
I make over $180 a month (spending just a few hours) taking online surveys.
There are a number of survey companies I recommend, but one of the best is Swagbucks. I like Swagbucks because they’re more than just a survey site – you can earn cash for searching the web, watching videos, answering polls, etc.
Ibotta
Ibotta is an app that gives you cash rebates on a huge variety of items, including groceries, personal care products, clothes, and more. It’s super easy to use and allows you to use coupons and still claim the full cash rebate, so in some cases, you may get items for free (this has happened to me quite a few times!)
Unlike some apps that pay in points or their own “currency”, Ibotta pays you real cash, which you can claim through PayPal or Venmo.
Ibotta is one of my absolute favorite apps!
Sign up here and you’ll get a $10 bonus when you redeem your first rebate.
Inbox Dollars
InboxDollars is an online rewards site where you can earn cash for completing a variety of easy tasks including reading emails, taking surveys, watching videos, playing games, searching the web, answering poll questions, etc. It’s easy to navigate and fun to use – I love Billy’s Spin & Win, where you can spin the wheel to win cash and sweepstakes entries!

American Consumer Opinion
American Consumer Opinion is an online survey site, which means you get paid to give your opinion. You’re not going to make enough money to replace your full-time job, but it’s definitely a good site if you want to make some extra cash. Join American Consumer Opinion here.
Mobee
Mobee is a fun, mystery shopper app that pays shoppers to complete missions, such as reporting on the appearance of a store display. Once you’ve completed your mission, it will be reviewed, and you’ll receive points which can be redeemed for gift cards, prizes, and cash.
Sign up here, enter the referral code PJJF and you’ll get 300 bonus points to get you started.
ThredUp
ThredUp is one of my favorite apps to sell clothes, shoes, jewelry etc. It differs from eBay in that there are no auctions – you set your own price for your items. I have tried other online selling apps in the past (with varied success) but I really like ThredUp. If you have good quality items you want to sell, then ThredUp is a great option.
Join ThredUp here and you’ll get a bonus $10.
Thank you so much for this article. Mobee have retained my attention. I will try it.
Good post. I certainly love this site. Keep writing!
Whoa I never knew about any of these – awesome!
Yay! You’ll definitely be able to make some extra money with these – I definitely do! 🙂
I use some of these, but I have definitely been enlightened on others. Thanks for sharing these awesome money makers!
Sure thing! 🙂
Ooh, some of these are new to me!!! 🙂 Thanks for sharing! I am a huge fan of Ibotta and Ebates and I really want to try out Twitter Legend soon!
Twitter Legend is such a great course! I’m posting a full review on the course tomorrow, so make sure to check in! 🙂

Absolutely! It’s pretty cool making money from your phone! 🙂
Ibotta rocks! I’ll have to check out some of your other suggestions. You’ve got some ideas that are new to me!
I agree, I love Ibotta! Definitely check out the others, they’re great too!
I love Ibotta. I think I got 2 rebates for the same loaf of bread this week (one brand and one anybrand).
I also like using the Swagbucks app on my phone. You get twice as many Swagbucks for watching videos on the phone as you do on your computer.
I just got two rebates for one box of cereal – one of the many reasons why I love Ibotta! 🙂 I didn’t know that about Swagbucks! Thanks for sharing!
I love ebates!! I have been using them for years and have gotten some pretty checks back from them. Such a great list…I’m going to have to check out some of these others.
Ebates is great! I never shop online without going through Ebates first 🙂
Great tips! I hadn’t heard of many of these before! Of course I rarely remember to use the ones I do know of…
Thanks! That’s why I like to keep my money-saving apps to a few favorites – easier to keep track of that way 🙂
Ibotta is intriguing! I like the cash back option and I’m not a coupon clipper, so this may be an alternative. I’ll check it out. Thanks!
You’re welcome! Definitely check it out! It’s really easy to use, and offers generous cash back on things you’re probably already buying anyway!
Cool! I’ve never heard of Mobee before, so that’s definitely worth checking out. Thanks for sharing it!
Absolutely! There are some pretty generous rewards on offer, too!
