How to Make $50 a Day From Home
Imagine if everyday, while you’re out running errands, playing with the kids at the park, etc., you found a $50 note… That’d be pretty sweet, right? That’s an extra $1400 in your pocket every month #notsayingnotothat.
Ok, enough dreaming. We all know that we’re not going to just “find” 50 bucks every day. BUT, I do have some good news – you can absolutely make $50 a day online (and a lot more, if that’s your goal.)
Listed below are some of my favorite methods for making money from home. Some of these can individually make you $50 or more. Some of them will probably make you less than $50, but if you choose a few of them, you’ll definitely reach that $50/day mark and beyond.
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is my favorite way to make money online. I make a full time income (more than $50/day) from affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is where you recommend a product or service to people who you think would benefit from/enjoy it. When they purchase the product, you make a commission.
It’s a win-win situation. The person you referred gets the benefit of your recommendation, the business makes a sale they may otherwise not have made and you make money without having to deal with any customer service.

Take Online Surveys for Cash
Online surveys are a great way to start making $50 a day online.
The problem with online surveys is that there are hundreds of scammy sites out there, making it difficult to know which ones are legitimate.
I’ve been taking online surveys for cash for years now, and there are a few standouts.
#1 Survey Site Recommendation
Vindale Research is one of my favorite survey sites. One of the best features of Vindale Research is their Daily Studies.
Daily Studies are surveys that change throughout the day. You can participate in the daily studies offered by Vindale Research 10 times per day, and you will earn money every time you complete the daily study.
Right now in my dashboard, there are 3 daily studies – one paying $1.25 per study, the other two paying $0.75. If I take each of the studies the maximum 10 times, I’ll make $27.50.

#2 Survey Site Recommendation
My next survey site recommendation is Swagbucks. Swagbucks is a market research company that pays you to answer surveys, polls, watch videos and use their search engine tool (instead of Google, Yahoo or Bing.)

#3 Survey Site Recommendation
My next recommendation for survey sites is Survey Junkie.
Survey Junkie has thousands of positive reviews and has a TrustPilot rating of 8.7/10, which is the highest out of any survey site.
One of the biggest complaints people have about survey sites is that if, after filling out the screening questions, you don’t qualify for the survey then you don’t get paid. That makes sense because you only get paid for surveys you actually complete. However, it’s still frustrating.

Make Money by Scanning Barcodes
Shopkick is a free app that pays you for doing things like entering a store and scanning barcodes.
Shopkick is sort of like a treasure hunt – you just enter the store (which you can earn up to 350 “kicks” for doing) then you find the products that are listed on the app and scan the barcode. You’ll be rewarded with “kicks” for both entering the store and scanning barcodes, which you can then exchange for gift cards to places like Amazon, Walmart and Target.

Sell Your Old CD’s and DVD’s on Decluttr
Look around you. How many old CD’s, DVD’s, games, books and other tech like cell phones and game consoles do you have laying around the house? Did you know that you can make money by selling them on Decluttr?
Not long ago, I was cleaning out the drawers in my kitchen and I came across an old iPhone 5S that I’d forgotten I even had. I ended up selling it on Decluttr and made $32 – not bad for something that was laying there collecting dust.

Use and Refer People To Ibotta
Ibotta is a free app that gives you cash back on groceries and personal care products. You simply find an offer, buy the item at the grocery store, add the offer in Ibotta, snap a photo of your receipt and collect cash back. I use Ibotta almost every time I go grocery shopping, and I’ve made some good money from using the app.
I know people like proof, so I’ve included a screenshot of my Ibotta account. I just cashed out some money so my current balance is at zero, but as you can see, I’ve made over $2000 with Ibotta.
Another thing I love about Ibotta is that besides earning cashback on your groceries, you can also earn money by referring friends to Ibotta. For every friend that joins using your referral link, you’ll receive $5. They also have regular challenges where you might get a $30 bonus if you send 3 referrals in a month, for example. I love the app so much that I would tell my friends about it anyway, so it’s a nice bonus to get $5 for every friend that joins!

Become a Pet Sitter
If you love animals and you have the space in your house, then pet sitting can be a great way to help make $50/day from home. One of the best ways to make legitimate money pet sitting is by becoming a member of Rover.
Rover is the largest pet sitting network in the United States – think of them as the pet equivalent of Care.com. Every 4 seconds a pet owner books a service through Rover, so there are plenty of opportunities for pet sitters. It’s completely free to set up a profile on Rover. Start a Blog
My favorite way to make money from home is through blogging. I started this blog 2 years ago, and although I don’t publish my income online, I will say that I make more than $50/day from this blog.
I know a lot of people think that it’s impossible to make money blogging, that it requires some insane skill, a million followers on social media, or for you to be “reality TV famous.” But here’s the facts – I am/have none of those things, and I make a full-time income blogging.
Full disclosure – the methods listed above are going to allow you to make money faster than blogging. However, you’re going to have the ability to make MORE money long-term, via blogging.

Become a Virtual Assistant
Virtual assisting is a rapidly growing career field. There are so many online business owners that require assistance with various tasks, and that’s exactly where a VA comes in. As a VA, you could be doing anything from managing an email inbox, running FB ads, creating Pinterest graphics, bookkeeping, formatting/editing blog posts…
Your tasks will vary depending on your own skills set and the requirements of your clients. The amount of money you make will also vary, but according to Gina Horkey, the brains behind 30 Days or Less to Virtual Assistant Success, the average going rate for a VA is $35-$50/hr.

So there you have it – a whole list of things you can do to make $50 a day from home.
Blogging and virtual assisting are the most lucrative, but they also require the steepest learning curve. Having said that, they both have a very low barrier to entry, and you’ll most likely find that you already possess a number of the skills required to be successful in either of those endeavors.
My advice would be to do the other things (like Ibotta, surveys, pet sitting, etc.,) while you’re working on your blog or your VA business, that way you’re getting the best of both worlds.
