The new year is almost upon us, and one of my goals for 2017 is to save more money. I currently have automatic transfers set up for saving and investing, but I would love to take my son to Disneyworld in 2018, so I’m going to be starting a savings plan to do just that! With this savings plan, you’ll have $2700 by the end of the year, and the best part is, the plan actually gets easier and easier as the year goes on. I prefer doing it this way because often people get money for Christmas, then their tax return a bit later, so finances are usually a bit more comfortable around the beginning of the year. Also, seeing your balance grow quickly provides positive reinforcement, which will encourage you to continue on!
*DC from Young Adult Money had a great suggestion of crossing off different amounts each week, depending on your financial situation that week. I love this idea and think it would be particularly beneficial for freelancers or people that don’t have a set income. Thanks, DC!
